Welcome to the John Wesley Inn and Carriage House, situated among the historic Stockton Row Cottages.

Queen Victoria’s reign ended over a century ago, but the grandeur and glorious reminders of that delightful era are preserved in Cape May.  The homes in this quaint little fishing village are a rare collection of Victorian architectural styles.  The vibrant colors applied by creative artisans and the intricate gingerbread trim of these homes awaken...stimulate… the senses with an invitation to enjoy our village’s Victorian past.

The John Wesley Inn, on a quiet street in the primary Historic District, is a Carpenter Gothic structure and one of the original Stockton Row Cottages built in 1869 as part of the grand Stockton hotel complex.  The hotel was demolished in 1911, but the cottages remain as a reminder of that elegant time.

The restoration of the John Wesley Inn was meticulously researched. Attention was given to every detail in order to return the Inn to its original beauty and grandeur.  Purchased by Bonnie and Lance Pontin in 2005, the Inn remains one of the finest examples of a true Victorian restoration found anywhere.

Each morning, Bonnie provides an elegant and carefully varied breakfast to start the day….a day in Cape May that is perfect for both the restless on the move type, or those whose ideal vacation includes rocking on the John Wesley’s Inn porch, sipping tea while admiring the horse drawn carriages passing by.

Every Suite and Room features both a private bath and fireplace for guest’s pleasure.  The rooms are romantically appointed with lace window treatment, oriental carpets and Victorian antiques. Whatever you are looking for… it’s here in Historic Cape May.
